Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque
- ABU DHABI
- GRAND MOSQUE
The iconic grand mosque is to be developed to accommodate two main visitor attractions in the form of a visitor centre and commercial centre. The development includes a new built-up area of 60,000 sqm at the southern side of the mosque.
The primary objective of the design is to preserve the iconic status of the Grand Mosque by respecting the existing visual corridors of the mosque and its surroundings. The proposed activities range from a visitor’s information/education center to commercial activities. At ground level there are plazas that are defined by two glass dome structures. The domes are portal entries to the subterranean activities.
AESG were commissioned to provide energy modelling and independent commissioning agent services on the project.
