The AAG Factory – Saving 400k PA
The AAG (Alabbar Architectural Glass) factory uses the most up to date glass processing equipment to guarantee top quality end-products that are used extensively in curtain-walls, doors, windows, skylights, balustrades, frameless assemblies and other glass applications.
The glass-processing equipment includes the UAE’s most sophisticated dual seal gas-filling double glazing line, the largest size tempering line, a mould-less bend & tempered line, a laminating line and a silk-screen line, duly supported by state-of-the art CNC controlled cutting, edging and drilling lines . In addition to the above, the factory contains a number of buildings to serveas commercial office space and warehousing.
Glass processing is an energy intensive industry and AESG were retained to provide consultancy services to assist in reducing the energy consumption of the factory. AESG conducted a comprehensive study of each machine and building in the factory and proposed a suite of low to no cost measures to reduce energy consumption. For each measure proposed, AESG carefully considered the manufacturing implications of the measure to ensure that product quality, manufacturing reliability and manufacturing process time were maintained.
AESG provided ‘Return on Investment’ calculations for the proposed energy saving measures and is working with AAG to implement the proposed measures and monitor and control their effectiveness post implementation. The study identified approximately AED 400,000 were through low-to-no-cost measures alone.
